Hamburger Icon Not Working on Android Devices

Hello,. Developing an app using ionic. I have a issue that menu icon is showing in browser but not showing in mobile.

I am having a strange problem regarding the side menu. I have used a side menu in my app and it is working fine in latest webkit browsers (chrome) on my PC.

Yes I had seen it already. The issue is in menu_item.xml file. Because the icon is not displaying even if I don't set the count in the java file ...

This works great on Xamarin and also on iOS MAUI. But on Android the icon/hamburger image is not showing so i can't use the menu through the icon.

For a basic MenuItem we can set id, title, icon and showAsAction attributes. showAsAction attribute helps in displaying the icon in toolbar/actionBar.

If you're running your code on Android 3.0+, the icons in the menu are not shown by design. This is a design decision by Google.

Menu icons don't show up in the toolbar. Wrap items in <menu> and add `app:showAsAction=always` to the parent item to fix it.

The modal is hidden on mobile. That's not the case in my test site so this issue could probably be caused by a custom code in your child theme.

The reason probably is that the items in the Overflow menu are supposed to be less-used items and we show full text there instead of a bunch of icons.

Try to find the theme.xml file. In there, at the top, you should find a line with something like material3...NoActionBar. Delete the NoActionBar section.
